….four basic updates from the weekend but each interesting in its own way – Saturday afternoon was Mishi’s second interview – this time in APJ, Noida. We went to her Dadu House, had lunch, changed into formals and went to APJ for her interview. Phewwwww….we were not prepared for it definitely. I had thought the SC had banned interviewing parents..anyway, we were asked two basic questions ‘why APJ’ and ‘Do you think homework should be given to kids’….the first one was shot at Manish while I proactively answered the other one because I firmly believe in it. It gives a child confidence to independently study, without teachers around and therefore becomes confident of the subject. Mishi I guess was asked to identify colours (thank god, I had made her pretty colorful for the round J)…she knows all the colors anyway..and I heard her singing ‘baba black sheep’…
After the interview, my husband was insistent on watching ‘Dhol’. We picked shalu and went to watch the movie…more than the movie, it was amusing to see Manish so excited about it..he ain’t the kinds to be enthusiastic about any movie…but was very keen on watching this one. The movie was surely intriguing, not for a full 100% laugh but not very bad either – it atleast keeps u awake…and I enjoyed it and had a good laugh. We came back home and then watched T20 – awesome match with aussies – Yuvi was awesome. Eager for the final today.
Sunday, ahem…..was daughter’s day! My folks being here, they made it very special for me…they are staying with my brother in Malviya Nagar…and had called us for lunch…great MOMO’s by aila (bhai’s helper), followed by Punjabi food, with a garhwali touch…followed by some gifts for all three of us. The weekend ended with Indian Idol – I no more believe in these reality shows. I think the public is crazy – they worship their communities, their nationalities, and their people than the TALENT itself. We are not here to propagate any of these when it comes to talent hunting. All the three idols have been selected not on the talent, but on these. Being a profound music lover, it disgusted me to see the results yesterday. Amit Paul is a wonderful singer and a versatile one. With no offence to Prashant Tamang, he is good for orchestra type singing.
