....If I look back at last 12 hours from now - I think I have a eventful story to tell here. As I write this at 7.51 am in the morning, sipping tea with Sonu the great - I can't do anything but laugh my head out. Eventful - mustn't I say that? Ok, you decide.
Day before I get a tinkle from my doctor friend from the Army - now enrolling for cardiology super specialization (Actually came first for the same...) "Hey, I am in Delhi" - needless to say I was jumping in the air. Smart as he is, he landed up at my office at sharp 5.38 pm...gosh..meeting your school friend after 16 years...is sure a beautiful feeling. We picked Mishi and came home...chatted and chatted...I cooked for him...sonu joined us...had dinner and we were all set to drop him...somewhere near the base hospital...Taurus Hostel...aha the name is engraved in my mind forever......the I don't think I can ever forget the one hour and 30 minute chase in the middle of the night to find the hostel. We would have almost tried every corner of the Delhi Cantt to figure that out...once reaching a road which lead us nowhere and then to a road which was closed.....everytime he would raise our hopes by saying the hostel was right next to the road....but sadly enough the time of the night was probably not right for him to recognize the place....it was amusing to see his disappointment with each passing minute in trying to remember the place. We did finally manage to locate it after talking to 4 different gaurds at 4 different checkposts!!!
Both Sonu and I were wondering if we will ever figure the way OUT of that zig zag mesh of the army cantt once we dropped him. Well, that's another story that we came out safe in the first shot...
Hmmmm...we did not call it a day yet - our discussions led us through the night...peacfully...and when finally we woke up from those long chats, it was 4.30 am in the morning and like all other times, we with that "know it all" attidtude', decided to not go off to sleep anymore. Sleep, on the contrary, refused to agree with us...and by 5.30 am both of us were snoring away to glory. Now hear this out - at 6.00 am sharp, I wake up with a thud from sonu..."mona, get up...there is a monkey in the other room...was jumping on my back..." My snors gave away to her shout and I jumped off my bed...I was blank...could not think and beleive what she was saying...until I saw her peeping inside the room. Behind her, through the door, I saw that eeesh...creature making hay with a crape bandage. We got a danda and tried to shoo him away...but I guess he was busy admiring the interiors. Well, it almost took us 15-20 minutes to shoo him...and we both kept encouraging each other to go to that room and shut off that god damn window which he managed to push open and get in. But the challenge was " who will bell the cat" (monkey here...which is even more scary)...I gave sonu a great logic..since she already had one encounter with the guy, she could muster up the courage to go and shut the window panel, which she finally did...bravo sonu!!! Just that she could not close it properly and the guy came again...hopping in and out of that window...until she finally managed to get him out.
My second encounter with the monkey...and I wish and pray - be it the last one. Not sure what are we gonna do at work today with just half an hour of sleep...

Hey.. you better be very careful! Monkeys are very fond of kids so if it ever sees any of Mishi's clothes or anything it will never leave your house.. No kidding here!
