Cloud Number Nine...

.... being in and above the clouds is one great feeling....a moment of great emotion...it makes you fall in love, again and again....yesterday I spent about 7 hours uphill, in the middle of the clouds. I like this role of a 'chaser' - don't know how far will it take me..but just to let everyone know that I am enjoying the feel of nature...and the cloudy feel associated. Hill stations - the best time is post lunch when the sun plays hide and seek with us - leaving a shady feel, the clouds/fog setting in amidst the pine vegetation - the smell of the 'koyla' burning...gives a winter touch, though it is mid june, supposedly the hottest time of the year. Past couple of years, whenever I have been uphill, it has given me immense peace. Part of my growing up has been in the hills of himachal and Uttranchal but mountains always gave me a very eerie feeling. My perceptions changed in last 3-4 years - I am one with complete fondness for hills and their serenity. And I owe that feeling to someone. Thanks - for bringing me closer to nature like never before, for helping me identify the 'chaser' in me...for helping me realize that I can dream and I can try to live by them. :-) All this makes me fall in love with life and nature and the challenge to get going...
...okay, that was little off the track but worth a mention, for sure...coming back to the mountains...the topographical change is amazing as you get on to further heights - wild species change places with pine trees all over and later to deodar trees. One side of the mountain shows its barren beauty, engulfed in the fog - the other side is obviously the PINE, neat and beautiful with a great aroma spread across miles..(pine vegetation catches fire pretty fast due to the pine oil). Spent about 2 hours with the villagers - their talks are always amusing...and am sure my 'garhwali' amuses them to the core.
Hey you know what, I want to own up a mountain tip - not the likes of Everest (!) but definitely one with pine trees. My legs ache after the tedious time uphil yesterday - and shortly in an hour's time, I will be gone there again, this time to a village called 'Malli Paali'. Wait until I share some interesting tales that I have got in last few days. We live in a very different world in Metros...when you find time to explore other things, you realize how people think and plan for future and materialize their dreams.
My Canon has captured some powerful shots and today I intend to get all of the shots in a cd...if I get the right shop here.

It is good to see that you are so much at peace with your inner self. & even better to see that you finally made peace with the hills. Enjoy your stay amongst your roots....
