My friend Sam....

Yesterday while driving towards DT mall to meet up with Sam and Sakshi, I realized I won't be seeing Sam around at work. And I hated it. In the one year that we have known each other, there may not have been many times we spent quality time together, but all of those times that we met, it was great..making weird plans which never worked out, planning for a get together at a short notice and living up to it, discussing work, sometimes life, sharing experiences..taking breaks together..cribbing about the work place....am surely going to miss all that..(does this sound like a farewell speech?) I don't intend to make it look like one..but for sure, in not too many words, I am gonna miss all that.
A very intelligent and compassionate couple, made for each other types...young and energetic and always ready for a plan, whatever that may be - that's Sam and Sakshi for you...I like their enthusiasm towards life even in small little things. I guess that's the kind of enthusiasm one should have in life. Like someone rightly said to me yesterday "jindagi ki talaash main hum, maut ke kitne paas aa gaye'...life is short, live up to it or live it but don't waste it for moments gone by shall never come. Infact, that's what Sam said too (though that was just an excuse to add more beer into my glass..he has always been a perfect host) - maybe this is the last time we are having beer together...so cheers...and I so much remember what hugh prather said in 'Notes to myself'...live life as if there is no tomorrow...as if there is no second moment than the one you are living. When it comes to life, you got to be an opportunist - a die hard at that.
Coming back to Sam and Sakshi, it was great to be with them yesterday evening - getting out of office, dropping mishi home, changing, then rushing to the mall, picking up a gift for them (card did not swap for whatever reasons and I had to tell the shopkeeper to call me and check later) and then hitting 'Staying Alive' straight in net net 58 minutes (alright, i know not really a record..). Nice evening - the place is good...3 bikes in all of a 40X40 sq feets area, 4 yellow dim lights on and 3 red lights towards the bar area, a small 'machan' type DJ area, and some posters of bikes, accessories, and ofcourse number plates like 'HOG motorcycle' etc on the walls...it is also called "bikers zone' - quite apt. There was some office party going on - and the three of us gate crashed the dance floor..right in the middle of everybody, dancing to the tunes (DJ had a good sense of songs, I must say)...Sam and Sakshi tried a bit of everything - ball, jazz, jive...not to forget Sam's romantic moves...
Wish no one had to leave ever in life...but perhaps that's one of the reasons why there is so much of compassion in human beings - the fear of not always being together....and then the fear of not feeling the same feeling always...and then the much dreaded fear of strangeness in an otherwise close relationship (okay, pass...) I can't be talking senti stuff early in the morning (did I tell you I am awake since 3 in the morning - POWER CUT and invertor konked off too)...and since 5 am, sitting in the balcony browsing Net...:-) that's life...and guess who woke me up - mishi "mumma, utho, goodmorning ho gayi"...poor girl, I put her to sleep somehow in this heat. Thank god Manish ain't here - he would have taken my class for staying in this place...I hate the electricity department and I have made a promise to myself - I gotta shift to a 100 percent power backup society ASAP...
This one was for Sam and Sakshi...so all the best my dear friends...needless to say I will stay in touch (though blogs, mails, whatever)...and like I said, I will definitely make sure you play the host to me in Bangalore...I am gonna miss you guys..but then life is calling...so rock the town (Bangalore) with your spirits..cherio...

& all the very best to your friends S&S for their stay in Bengaluru. The infrastructure is amazingly bad. The pubs are cool.
