Amchi Mumbai...

..last three days have been very busy - Delhi to Mumbai, and then to Lonavala and now back to Mumbai again.
This part of the world ain't as exciting as the rest. Mumbai, if you just forget Bandra and the new setup for a while, the sub urbs are muck.. No planning and to top it, no efforts being done to do anything worthwhile - that's Mumbai...
But for a drop dead chilly atmosphere, you bet Lonavala could have been one of the most romantic places around...it is in the middle of valleys, small little mountains and in the middle of those, a small township..infact, lots of townships....the small round and flat mountains reminded me very much of Oman. Even Oman had similar mountains - rocky, black, and lifeless.
Being a highlander myself, I will never call it a hill station...it ain't close to a hill station. But oh man, the kind of bunglows people have made there, specially the bollywood folks, are neat...someone named his bunglow "shatranj' and actually gave it a complete zig zag appearance. I wonder if I would want to own a bunglow myself over there (forget about the bank robbery I would have to indulge in..)...I could but only if the temperature was little cooler..
Drive back from Lonavala to Mumbai - did it in 3 and a hlaf hours, courtesy Manish's ignorance of the ways in and around Mumbai. The first 30 minutes of highway driving is awesome, curvy roads, great view, and speeding cars..I loved every minute of it...will post the pictures sometime later.
So much for now - I am on vacation and a long one..but surprisingly don't get the time to blog...will mend my ways...

I dont know. Between Delhi n Mumbai, I find mumbai to be more real and alive. None of the hollowness that you see in Delhi. There is a method in the madness called mumbai

That was it... said...

I did not talk about hollowness at all...I only spoke about the infrastructure and the lifless mountains in lonavala...but of course there is a difference in the crowd and people..people are very helpful and simple..down to earth...and Nuttynut, why anonymous?

We all have to live within limits. Some definded by the world around us and some by ourselves. One of those things.
