Aanchal!!!

Mili and her best friend 'Ananya'....look at the way Mili is clinging on to her friend...don't need to mention the bond...look at it yourself. God Bless. Like Aawargi and Me, our daughter's will be the best of friends (Yeah, Ananya is Aawargi's daughter!!!)
Mili's first day to school....Baby, I loved to see you in that school dress...did not realize how you grew up so fast...Bless you. Look at the dimple on her left cheek - meri jaan nisaar us par.
Remember I told you the cake for her birthday turned out to pretty neat, though it wasn't a specialized on that I had ordered. Guess I just got lucky..it was yum....

Mili, trying to be a little shy while clicking her in her school dress. The other picture with her and the cake is the day previous to her birthday...and the last picture...yeah that's Mishi in her first Tennis session. :- )

Choti Mishi & Big World

Another submission done finally…. The day after a submission is so dull and free. When you are in the final stage of submission, life is eventful and busy like hell with an email every minute. And postfacto, there is silence. Suddenly there is no email in your inbox and you keep hitting the ‘Send-receive’ button, waiting for an email. :-) )

When I started the quarter, I did it with a bang – promising and defining my benchmarks. Towards the end of the quarter, I don’t feel I have achieved much yet. With just about 4 days to a close, I wake up, and that too, because I get a breather to think about those. Too late to work on any of those but still not too late to at least initiate them. As is said ‘Better late than never’.

And now the personal front…

With a zombie state yet (2 days of distressed sleep), I went with Choti Mishi today for her orientation program at her school. My little Mishi’s first day in the BIG school. Did not realize when time just flew by. The new surroundings, the environment, everything around her is going to be different from what it used to be in pre-school years. With less of attention and emotional support from teachers in the school, with an aim to make children become more independent, it is a new phase for her as well as us. We could see her sitting in the classroom with a curious and strange look…trying to absorb the newness. While Manish was insistent we stand and be there for sometime, I coaxed him to leave and we came out of the school. Let our girl deal with the new world herself, the way she wants to. Needless to say, we stand by, at all times.

There seemed a lot of logistical issues to us – the school does not have transport coming to this side of the world where we live. The private transport does not allow anything but a maruti van since there ain’t many kids from this side. We not keen on the van and proposing a bus. It was all so confusing.

For almost an hour in Barista, I and Manish sat with confused minds – at a point we almost decided to get her admitted to another school near to our place, where there also would be a daycare facility. I guess it was in a spur and like all parents, we got nervous too. But we thought over it and decided to wait for sometime. Changing places and schools may not be the best thing to do.

We then went to a day care and liked it instantly for the thoughts that were shared with us. When you know there are people who understand the kid’s psychology and know how to deal with it, you feel secure yourself as parents, which is what happened with me and Manish. Good, at least one place that we liked for Mili. Rest should fall in place too with time. I hope she gets used to the surroundings – it is too much for a little heart and mind – changing house, changing school and then changing daycare. Baby, hope you adjust to all of these. All this in an attempt to settle down, though it seems so unsettling at the moment. But I know you will. Cheers and good luck angel. A new life begins for you – a new phase.

Tantrums!!!

I would have done endlessly when I was a kid but then how does it bother me…I wasn’t the victim there..I was the one doing them and am sure I gave my pa and mom one hell of a swell time…for I still continue to do so, once in a while. Trust me when I say this. :D

I am sure they would have felt like bashing me up a lot of times..and of those times, I remember one or two which actually made me feel so full of anger that I would shut my room up and not open it for hours altogether. Infact, I am not sure my parents knew then the aggressive/bad tempered brat I will someday turn into. While they always thought I was the most loving and caring daughter they had, they constantly have been trying to calm my nerves with their lecturing (!). Off late whenever I sit with my dad, the only thing he talks to me is about not stressing my life with so many things on plate and controlling my temperament. There would be people around me who would swear by god that they have never seen me angry…yet the closest of them would keep a distance off…playing it safe not to get me to my worst. Hello? Why are we talking about my negatives today? And even if we are, why am I so keenly into it, initiating it at the first place?
Thanks to a friend and my dad, I have been introspecting…both in lines of what he said to me as well as this. I wouldn’t want to always keep talking about myself…but hey…this is one space where I actually can!

However, this posty wasn’t to talk about my tantrums early in the morning, specially when it is a festival of colorful colors…(HAPPY HOLI folks…)…but it SURE is meant to express what I feel of what I saw yesterday. TANTRUMS – at their best!!! And guess who do they come from? Choti Mishi.

Mishi has started throwing tantrums big time and yesterday, she managed to shock me completely and all. Both I and Manish did not know how to handle her for the first time. You know it was like…there was a little monster inside of her that would just surface each time she passed through a toy shop or an icecream-parlour, or see pepsi, coke, chips etc. She behaved in the most erratic manners and for the first time, I was so upset with what I saw. I know this won’t last forever and every kid does this and that and much more AND the fact that with time she will calm down, sober down…but what if she doesn’t…what if she turns out to be another me? I see myself in her when she clenches her teeth and says ‘Mumma..Mujhe bahut gussa aa raha hai’. My doll, my precious little angel…I wish you would listen to me and not turn out to be like Mommy who never listened to anyone. It never did any good to me…so while you can help yourself, please do..and I hope you read this when it is the right time. I love you very much and it hurts when I think you would also feel the way I do..if there is so much boiling inside. Take it out on me…and remember..am always around you…God bless…as I write this, my doll sleeps besides me…waiting for her to wake up so that we can play holi and make life more colorful than it already is…
Cheers and spread the colors…

Happy Birthday Mili!

Just a matter of time, my dear doll…
Chapattis and dal replaced Cerelac.
Nappies changed to frilly panties,
Sandals and sports shoes replaced the mittens and soft shoes,
‘Mmmm’ (an effort to say Mom) changed to “Mommy, don’t talk to me’ and ‘Mumma, I love you’,
…and you turned four! Happy birthday Mili and god bless you! Mumma loves you.

I was working today and ask me how I hate it. My angel’s big day and am not there with her. Here I am dedicating a posty to her on her 4th birthday….

Yesterday evening, I and bhabhi went to the market..though we were dead tired after the Havan, followed by lunch and dinner for the entire family…bought Mishi a cycle and two pink dresses for her big day. There shall be a big party next Saturday for her.

Today morning, Manish took her to adventure park with her cousins and then a Mac Donald’s treat. Evening, Mommy and Aawargi (Mishi’s favorite Maasi) should reach by 6.30 to cut her cake. Divsy Maasi felt bad at not being able to make it today and JLO Maasi wished her with an sms…(sometimes that’s the way it is…), tony maasi and kuhu and sara sang a birthday song for her…and so did mommy at exactly 5.15 pm..the time she was born..shouting her lungs out while driving back home. Nan, nani from Goa, dad, dadi from New friends colony, Bhabhi as usual making sure she had a rocking time the whole day..all wished her loads of happiness. Doc messaged her his good wishes and so did her otherr BIG fan…asking me to send the bills of whatever I shopped for her today. Thanks a million folks.

Finally….Clichéd by now but my favorite lines that I always sing for my little princess…and I will do it yet again….

Mommy:
You are my heart,
You are my soul,
Oh I love you Mili…
You have blessed my life,
With your little soul,
Oh I love you Mili.

Papa:
You are my heart,
You are my soul,
Oh Papa loves you Mili,
You have blessed our lives,
With your little soul,
Oh Papa loves you Mili.
Darling, may you grow up to be a beautiful human being…full of compassion and love for everyone around!
