Hats Off to HailStorm

...people, if you don;t have your cars insured of Natural Calamities, here is a piece of advise - please do so. Don't underestimate the power of natural disasters. :-) As I write this, I have a smile on my face..but it wasn't so yesterday evening, when I saw two cracks on my windshield glass, right where the wipers are placed, and those small rolu-polu bumps/dents all across the body of my car - bonnet, roof top, and the boot. My car is pimpled. And guess who did it? The nature, but of course. The hails that hailed were almost the size of small apples/potatoes or whatever.
Me, my friend, and my sis-in-law - we were so busy enjoying the view - shower of hails, and the parks and roads, slowly turning white with the hail fall...with some of them falling off and on my balcony. Almost every other car was shouting loud and I could see some folks parking their cars elsewhere in the shade. And suddenly it dawned into me - holy shit, my car was outside too, and not under any shade. As if that realization was good enough for me to quickly get into something more cosier than what I was wearing, I would have taken exactly 2 minutes to cover myself warm and I dashed out of my apartment, towards the lift - only to find out that it wasn't working. Four floors down in a jiffy, don't remember the count of all those stairs(never used them before ;-)) - and almost slipping in the rains (LOL) - I finally reached where my car was parked. What I saw - I hated to the core. One year old, my car looked worn out with those numerous dents all over the body. :(
I am hurt and so is my car. I almost contemplated buying a new one and selling this one out, my friend sonu even offered buying this. But let's be practical - I don't think it is a great idea. So, the next I did (after an advice from Sam) was to call up the insurance agency and tell them about what happened. They asked me to send a message to 8888, which I dutifully did. Today afternoon, I intend going to the service centre and check how much is the damage going to cost. All the best to me. And oh lord of rains and hails and whatever, MERCY..puhleez!!!
And a lesson, don;t take anything for granted. When there is a shaded parking for your car, USE it.

Wow! There was a hail storm in Delhi? Am I jealous! I haven't seen one since I left Shillong some 12 years ago ...
