"Phisla hai ye, phir haath se"

Dil khudgarz hai, phisla hai ye phir haath se…

 

There is a story behind this line. Yesterday was a great evening – at Shalu’s place in Noida. Just the four of us (Arpan, Shalu, Manish and myself) sat on a round table boozing..with dim blue lights (Shalu bought a huge chandelier…not sure if I spelt it right) – Arpan was stuck on this song from Metro…and kept asking us what if you fall for someone again, all over again…I kept quite for quite sometime thinking he would understand my silence – but to no avail…not sure what he wanted to hear…actually I think he was sure of what he wanted to hear….only nobody was telling him that. In the next couple of hours, we had heard the number atleast 15 times…and by the time we were through with our discussions, I realized that the song was beautiful…actually beautiful.

 

For the next one hour my dear old bumchum sat with me and spoke about our yesteryears – how he remembered a song that I sang some 12 years back…he liked it better than what lucky ali sang (Ahem!!!) – said it was pious and beautiful…actually made me learn the song again…there may be all kind of friends..but this one brings a new meaning to a relationship….it is amazing that we have known each other for 28-30 years now…and we still sings songs end-to-end – in one tune…remembering the lyrics…smiling away to glory…three cheers Arpan, today, for our being friends….after a lot of years, I revived back the memories of the past and felt good about them!!!

 

….and not to forget the day before yesterday (while I have an entire story to tell..which perhaps I will mention in my next post)..when Doc came with his better half and his kiddo Rishi – awesome meeting the three…I can’t believe, we met with our kids now….life is great..gives beautiful moments. Doc, the great human being and great friend that he is – chose to get me CDs and two books..and the way he has addressed the books on the first page is just terrific. Doc, am going to read ‘Doctors’ this weekend and reserve my any further comments till later. But you know what, you fill my life with so much of faith and compassion.
